Indash Dvd/Double Din/Will It FIT?!

Ok I've been searchin around on ebay and a few other places and I have found some double dins for under 300 bucks. My question is because its been debated... Whats required to get it into a 99 X and would a fold out screen be more user friendly. I am very new to audio side not so much my cup of tea.... I'm bone stock now and want to eventually have some form of cd/dvd/possibly navigation some upgraded speakers no subs yet possibly a hideaway. Any information I already thank you for as I've searched n searched and only found custom stuff.

ok you mentioned trimming.... do you mean that faceplate that has the cd,ac and fog/4wd switchs? and exactly how difficult will this be i would love to see pics and a write up as i dont wanna mess up my daily driver! thank you for your advice thus far

These are not mine, but those of Sal A. from MyST.com. He popped in an Eclipse DD with Navigation. I've used his before of a ST bezel and after of a trimmed Expy bezel to show the difference.

And after, showing the black filler plate. I used a silver paint that nearly matches my ST's silver bezel. But, he used the Scosche kit, too.

if your gonna do the whole shaving the bezel thing, jtm087 was selling one that was already shaved about a month ago if you wanna save yourself the hassle... he might still have it

Difficult?

How hard is the conversion to the 2 din fit? I'm trying to cut cost and do it myself, but if I screw this up it could cost me. Anywhere to order the customized dash piece?

about 5- 10 minutes worth of time with a dremel. can cut it out with a sharp knife, a file set or a small saw (air saw). i just prefer my dremel for it
