Hey guys. I am going back and fourth on which subs to get. I either want 1 12" infinity perfect kappa sub in a singel box or 2 12" AUDIOBAHN ABP12 in a really cool looking Dual 12" Bandpass Box W/Neon lights. The box has 3/8 Inch Plexiglass Window, Blue Interior Neon Lighting, Mirrored Interior Panels. I like the infinity better but cant find a cool box to go along with it, and I think the audiobahns look cool and should sound ok. The price is about the same for the 2 12' w/box and the infinity+box.
Please advise

Personally I would go with the AudioBahns. They are high end, not to mention those boxes look awesome.

i'm not a fan of bandpass boxes, so i would rather get the infinity and put it in a large sealed or ported enclosure. if you just want bass and a cool looking setup, get the audiobahns. if you want sq, get the infinity. it's like apples and oranges....

what kind of Audiobahn sub are you planning on, that tou reffer to in your signature. How close are they in SQ and which will work with my amp. Also I am somwhat worried about hearing loss, so would lower SPL mean less damage? thanks so much

most likely, i'm going for a single AW1505X. i had the AW1205X and it was amazing. Car Audio & Electronics did a test between the top four subwoofers in different price ranges. the 1205X was really impressive in those tests. it had the highest SPL, and the best clarity at high volumes. and the efficency was great too. it is made to handle 1000 watts rms, but they only gave it 500 watts for the tests.

i think you're looking for something less powerful, so they're pretty much out of the question.

leenjen,

it's the 15" series , not many people have actually reviewed these subs yet, but i know from expierence they are about the baddest subs on the planet if you want SPL. They do require quite some internal volume, i got mine set on 2.5 CU FT for each , and i think about porting them.

though i put 1325 watts in each driver they could handle much more then that, i think with everything setup well i should be able to hit close to 158 db's with these monsters if i can't go over it. i really haven't build it in yet , and i got an job to do with an burban , who's got to get done for the next season start but that's an pure SPL, can you actually believe they have build that system for that girl, put 6 image dynamics 12" ers in there and just 4 caps , no extra batteries or nothing, they said they hit 146 db's wich in my eyes for 6 ID 12'ers is kinda on the low side.

Sam - I have 2 12" Perfect's in a bandpass and get great sound quality out of 'em. They'd probably sound even better in a sealed or ported, but I got a good deal on the bandpass. I think with either setup, you'll find that the sound is good. However, try and listen to the subs before you buy them, and don't go with one just because it "looks cool." You can get neon's for pretty cheap after buying a box anyways.

TerraBomb - That link isn't working, but if you have any picture of your setup, I'd love to see 'em, it sounds sweet.

here it is...working and well , i will make pictures when everything is ready, right now i just made an quick makeshift box where the woofers are in, i haven't found any time from work to start on it....

ofcourse that little system i bought will set you back about 3K...2K for the amps + 1 K for the woofers...
