Ok, I have a 1992 Edddie Ex 4x4, I just intsalled the Eibach 2" lowering springs. The only problem is that the front differential is riding on the rubber stoppers. Is there a way where I can increase that distance?? maybe by shaving off some of the rubber on the stopper?? I really love the look that came out of it. Thanks.:redexp:

Yes, you can trim the rubber stops. Remember when we all said that a 1st gen 4x4 cannot go lower than 2 inches without major modifications? We weren't joking!

Just what do you mean by MAJOR MODIFICATIONS??

You have a TTB in the front. Basically, it's like a solid front axle truck. When you lower the axle, it will hit the bump stops. When you cut the bump stops, it'll go lower but then you have to worry about diff clearances, front driveshaft issues, oil pan clearances, etc. All of these are not a problem on a 2WD.

Yes, but the springs only lower the body, not the axle, I am keeping the same stock rims and wheels for now, so that should move my diff. anywhere. What should I do if it does go lower though? I mean about the oil pan and front driveshaft and all?

Yes, I guess you could say the springs lower the body, or you could say they "raise" the axle up closer to the body. Nobody has ever tried to lower a first gen 4x4 more than a few inches, so I don't know the specifics on what exactly it would take. It's just too impractical.
