Wow!! This hu is cool...... so many options so little time. I have only had this hu for about oh.... 2 hours, and already I LOVE IT!! It has made a Huge difference in the sound quality and clarity. It was and is the final piece that completes my FOCAL audio system. I wasnt impressed with the focals at first but now man do they sound Awesome. All because of a little $500 upgrade. The looks arent that great but it definalty makes up for that in sound. The time alignment is for me the coolest function of the deck. You can tell it what kind of vehicle you have (ex...SUV, TRUCK, WAGON, MINIVAN, SEDAN) where your tweeters are located (ex...DASH, DOORS, KICKS), and tons of other stuff. Then it takes all the info and produces great sound according to your setup. I like it alot, I'll post pics later.

I put my Eclipse 5433 in a couple of weeks ago and really like it. It's my first Eclipse unit and I can say that I would buy Eclipse again.

I totally agree, there is just something about it that I love, but I can figure it out yet. I can tell a HUGE difference in sound. I like it.....I like it a lot.

yeah. the 8443 is awesome. the 8volt preamp outputs and the time alignment are great. as soon as it came out, i knew it was going to sell fast. we sold a lot of them at work and eclipse has them on back order. they are being sold quicker then they are being made

I can see why they have sold so fast. I was going to get the CD5433 , but they were sold out, so I upgraded! The only thing that I'm afraid of is playing with the settings TOO much. I just found the PRO-audio mode, this thing has so many tuning capabilities, its great for those who want to absolutly fine tune everything. I want to experiment but dont want to ruin the sound. I guess ya gotta learn some how.

we just did an install in a probe the other day. i dodnt like the way the pro audio mode sounded in that. not enough bass

Hey Leenjen

I have a question: I'm trying to figure out the whole time alignment in the pro mode. In the manual it gives you a "Formula" to reach the ideal delay time.

A= (B-C)/34

A: Delay time (ms) I assume millla sec.
B: Distance from listening position to furthest speaker (cm)
C: Distance from listening position to the speaker being adjusted. (cm)

My question is... is the farthest "speaker" going to be my sub? If the answer is yes then this process is easier if no then I have more complicated questions.
Thanks, I hope it wasnt too confusing.

no, your farthest speaker should be your right rear. take measurements to be sure. dont count the subwoofer

Okay that answers that question.... now when trying to figure out the delay time for the furthest speaker...... the "B" & "C" are going to be the same.

Example: A=delay time, B= 100cm, C is also going to equal 100cm. So when the equation is
A=(B-C)/34............. A will be zero right? No delay time.
I hope I'm right because I'm starting to confuse myself. Thanks for the patience and for all your help. You are really the only person who I know I can believe and trust. No offense to anyone else. Leenjen is just......well.....he's the man!!

Told you those Focals would be awesome once you got a really good HU! I've got the 5443 (or maybe 54410) and it has been awesome. The time alignment is unreal. Never thought I would really be able to hear the difference, but it's there.
Now that my deck is 3 years old (and the warranty JUST expired) Imight look at getting a enw one.
8v pre-outs. Way past everyone. and I would love to get an MP3 deck..... just don;t listen to enough of them since I concetrate on SQ more.
