Installing intake BUT vac hose not long enough to connect?!?

Installing intake on my 04 4.6 mounty. Got everything fitted lookin good but after I drilled the hole and installed the new "nipple thing" in the new intake piping the vac hose doesn't reach by like an inch?!

First off, can I extend the hose by an inch or so without throwing any codes or other type of bs like that?

And secondly, where can I buy a longer piece of hose? Pep boys? Sorry this last one might have been a dumb question.. Just slightly aggravated so bear with me lol

I ran into the same problem installing my K&N. I had to replace a short rigid hose with longer more flexible one. I just brought the hose into advance auto and the guy went in the back and got me a piece. Cost me like $6.
