so i have had my headers for a while now and got some free time so i decided to bolt them up easy sounding right no no not at freaking all. I hate EGR valves and jba with a passion after today. It say direct factory replacment unbolt and bolt on not really the headers bolted up nice, but when it came to the EGR valve tubing off the header nothing lined up because of that big loop in the piping. It was retarded i used pry bars hammers and everything nothing worked i eventually cracked that stupid tubing and now i have to go to the junkyard tomorrow and snag one off another explorer. Has anyone ever installed these and had this much trouble or am i just a freakin dip **** that doesnt know how to install headers. The right side went on freakin perfect 10 mins but that EGR man its so stupid.

i feel your pain

im having the same problem right now. let me know how it turns out

I have heard of people using an appliance gas line to replace the solid factory tube...something a read on another forum but at the moment can't remember which one saw it on...I guess I wasn't much help...but you may want to visit the local hardware store with your pipe and maybe you can find a match.

Good luck:popcorn:

jba's and the beloved egr

i tryed to have a local pipe bending/ hyrdolic hose place make me an extension. didnt work n just had ford make me a custom extension and put a minor bend in the pipe to clear the power steering resivour and an a/c sensor. got a fair gain of low end off the line and milage. if you set the pain in the ass of an egr aside, its worth it. ford put mine on for free since the motor was already out. jsu got charged for the pipe to be modified.
