Hey gang,
My cruise control switches stand out like a sore them.... cracked all over the place.... rest of dash etc in really good shape so I thought I'd replace them.
Anyone do this and is setup pretty much identical to this Ranger procedure ?

Thanks guys!
This is the one time that you don't want to go with OEM parts that have been sitting on the shelf.

When I replaced mine a few year ago I thought that I had scored a major deal when I found old Ford switches on-line in boxes that had never been open. When the first order arrived the switches were just as brittle as the ones that I was replacing and they broke the first time that I pushed on them. The place I bought them from sent me a second set and they was in the same condition. After that I went with aftermarket switches from some place (don't remember where or the manufacture any more) and those worked perfect.

So while it is usually best to go with original Ford parts, in this case they are likely to be 20+ years old and brittle.

/\ Thanks for the heads up, on side note so it appears with both of you, after removing bolts no need for steering wheel puller? ....just wrangled off pulling back and forth....like in video..correct?

Wack the back of the wheel with ur hand

I just disconnect the battery neg terminal. Waited 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the two retaining screws each side of the wheel two remove air bag in the steering wheel. Access switch. I did not have to remove the steering wheel. I used new factory switch. I didn't have your issue.
