my leaf spring shacles rusted through and i wanted to get new ones. I bought warriors at advance auto parts. Do you thing that i would be able to install the myself? and if i could how hard is it to do? and how do you do it? thanks.

shackles are pretty easy. go to search and type warrior shackles and i'm sure you'll find hours of material. i did mine about two months ago and my brother and me did those and leaf swap in an hour. make sure to use plenty of pb plaster before the job ;)

i wouldnt EVER get underneath a car alone. No matter how good you think your shop/garage components are, its plain stupid to get underneath a car or truck alone. Even for something as simple as shackles, just get a friend to come over. Offer him a cold brew and ask for his help. It shouldnt take the two of you more than 30 min (using air tools, i finished in about 20 min and i had never done this type of work before) Just be patient, and it will be an easy process. It also helps to have a buddy help you install the bolts, it gets tricky to hold the spring and shackle and install the bolt at the same time with only 2 hands  . Its not a hard thing to do... Just take your time and pay attention to everything you do/take off incase you ever need to remove the added part for some reason.

my shackles rotted through recently, and they were easy enough to replace, but I had to torch out some of the throughbolts and bushings. Afterwards I found out that NOBODY sells a replacement for the frame bushing, sleeve, and bolt. I had to fabricate one myself with spare parts and another bushing with the same OD. To make it easier, while your truck is lifted, and before you remove the old shackles, wedge something between the leafsprings and the frame, just so you don't have to muscle it all back into place when you put it back together.
