Instrument Cluster Failure

The speedo on my 03 Explorer Limited not working. The issue I have is that I found a used cluster at an Used Parts Store with 63k miles. My X has 41k and I was wondering if the new clusted installed would show the 41K or the 63K. Plus will all other items work properly??

There is no need to post your queston in two different sections of this forum. Your odometer will show what the new one has. I believe the dealership and some repair shops can change the speedometer to reflect the correct information.

Actually, I think with the new ones the miles are controlled by the computer and therefore show what ever is in the computer....post your question on FlatRateTech.com where a Ford technician can answer it. Also, are you sure it is the cluster and not a speed sensor?

Latest 3rd Gen are in the computer not the cluster from what I heard.

Does any know for certain if actual miles of the auto will appear or the miles indicated on the instrument cluster???

I don't to install the cluster and find that I have gained miles on the X

is it my cluster or something else when it is damp out like after a rain cool damp morniing my check gauge comes on temp gage falls to bottom o.d light flashes out side temp goese blank if you shut truck off in this mode it will not start ffor a couple of days but if you cacth it before it is shut off turn heater on high after a while it will go off and its ok untill its damp again one site i was on said its a comom thing but I have not seen it on this site any ideals its a 2002 explorer
