Lately my '05 Explorer LTD started doing a Dash Cluster Test upon startup. It has been extremely cold lately and that seems to be the only time it does this. It does it on it's own and sometimes the dash lights will go out during the process. This morning I decided to shut the truck off then back on and everything seemed normal. Am I looking at a major problem starting to show or an easy fix? This truck has over 192000 miles on it and has never let me down. I would like to keep her going any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's due to cold temps causing your battery voltage to be low and messing with self-test circuit. When you disconnect the battery and reconnect it the self-test is supposed to initiate once. When you have low voltage at starting it triggers the self-test.

I've had this happen too at -30*F and it quit repeating as soon as the temps came up a bit.

Same here in my '05. Happened once or twice in really cold temps on an aging battery. Never saw it again in warmer temperatures, or since the battery was replaced.
