Did a wire get knocked out of place accidentally? such as a ground wire maybe

is there a ground wire for the instrumental cluster? if so, where is it located? thanks

I don't know any wire locations unfortunately.

there are a few ground wires on the flex circuit
the connectors and flex tarnishes and connections aren't that good over time.

When I swapped over to LED bulbs, the same issue occurred. So I ended up soldering the LED bulb connections to the flex circuit (don't do this unless you're very good with a soldering iron)

what exactly is the flex circuit? is that the board on the back instrumental cluster?

yes, I don't recall a physical board on the instrument cluster where the bulbs are in the '01 I have

i think i have the same situation as well. I think the solder on the flex circuit is scratched off. So did you just basically use wire or some sort of solder-like paste on the flex board?
