Maybe someone could clear me up on something. In the explorer express catalog, there is a hi-po air filter, by K&N, listed for $229.95. The KKM Tru Rev lists for $89.95. What is the difference. What would some of you recomend. I am looking to get alittle more power.

imho the k&n is a nicer unit but i dont have it or the kkm so i cant tell you for sure. however i do know that the kkm isnt smog legal and you would have to change it if you get pulled over for a visual check or to get a smog test in california. the K&N is legal and includes a carb exemption #

is the KKM not smog legal in just california, or other states too, i live in NJ...anyone else know about either of these?

Is the KN really worth the 230?

I passed Maryland Smog check without ANY problems. If you're in CA you just have to weigh whether spending an extra $140.00 is worth about 15 min. it would take to restore it back to stock in order for it to pass the visual inspection if you purchased the KKM. I'm pretty sure you'll get the same performace gains from either one of them.

I passed with the KKM the past two inspection here in NY.
