I'm a newbie to your Forum.

Just got my 1st Explorer (former Cherokee onwer) a 96 XLT 4.0. I'm not completely familiar yet so I thought I'd find out from those who know; you!

What is the best setup for adding a new air intake and exhaust (cat-back) to my vehicle? The best for performance. I'm building this for street and show. I want a healthy sound, better torque, and HP.

I've heard very good things about the Magnaflow. I hear it doesn't give you any flat spots throughout the RPM band.(My Flow does slightly) People like KKM, K&N FIPK, and MAC.

I would say get a KKM intake and then get your exhaust done. You can get a force II kit for your exhaust from flowmaster, which will give you a muffler and all the piping to install a new system on your ride. The kit comes with a 50 series delta flowmaster which should sound pretty good on your ride, If you want it louder then go with a 40 series.

I'd say 50 works better on street, personally 40 sounds offroad beefy, or super street. As far as a daily driven street machine, IMO the sound needs to be smooth and mellow, yet beefy and powerful. lol I sound like one of those weird food critics. Anyway.. flow50 IMO is yer best bet for a street sound, for intakes I can't say anything for any brands except kkm, mine didn't do anything, infact my dealership tells me mine took power, but whatever, I'm not taking it off. Goodluck in your desicion
