Does anyone know is you can get an aftermarket intake tube for a '00 4.0 OHV? I already have the KKM. The stock intake pipe makes a very sharp 90 degree agle that almost puts a kink in the rubber tube. I'd like to purchase a replacement.
Also, I was thinking of creating a heat shield around the KKM -- to prevent engine and radiator heat. However, if I do this, it seems like it would also block the cold are coming from the bottom. Would this be a waste of time? Thanks for your opinions

Well, I have one of the prototypes made by Ben99 from this site for a 3" intake on newer Explorers. You just reminded me I need to send it back to him for final adjustments. Check with him in about a week. (Ben, if you read this, I'll put it in the mail ASAP.....sorry)
And about the hotter temperature.....check Aldive's post on temperature difference between outside air temperature and engine bay temperature. I've seen a slick heat-shield on a buddy's Civic, and he mentioned it worked REALLY well, knocking off 0.4 seconds from his 1/4 mile times. But I still don't think it would help much at all.
