Interested in buying an explorer, help needed!

Hi, i was at the car yard the other day and saw an explorer, i like. ive spoken to many mechanics and 80% of them are telling me to steer clear of them, they've been branded the exploders here! it has 150000kms on the clock, its heaps nice and tidy no leaks or noises, runs smooth, i was looking at doing a lot of travelling in the near future and was wondering if i were to buy it would it be reliable. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site.. The Ford Explorer is a great truck to get.. Just stay away from the SOHC V6.. Choose either the 4.0 OHV or the V8 models.. The transmission in the V6 models aren't the greatest but with proper maintance, the transmission can last a long time.. I have over 114k miles on my original transmission on my 1997..
