dunno yet
I know this may not seem like a big deal...but I have to drive my ex into town tomorrow for work, and if it wont start because the dome light is on, I am in trouble.

The rear dood on drivers side was having an issue where unless you really slammed the hell out of the door, the door ajar light was on. Now no matter how hard I slam any of the doors, the light is still on, and I think that is why the dome light is on...it thinks there is a door open. Question is...how do I get it to realize the door is shut, turn the light out, and that way I dont have to worry about draining a dang battery?

HELP

thank you

It should start regardless unless the voltage drops to the point that the starter can't turn effeciently. Are all the lights on? If so why not just pull the fuse that controls it or the bulbs. Moving to the 95-01 Stock forum.

the switch for the lights is on the door latch itself. I had this problem before myself and what I did was spry some electrical contact cleaner all over the latch, through the window opening. then I opened and closed the door a bunch of times. It finally stopped after spraying almost a whole can of contact cleaner in it. This is messy, as the stuff leaks out from the bottom of the door, but it did work for me. Just make sure that you have something there to soak up the contact cleaner on the ground when you do this. If that doesn't do it, then you will probably have to replace the door latch mechanism.
Let us know how it works out.

or you can take the panel off and unplug the contact wire.... doesn't fix things but gets you part way there.... replacing the door latch is more effort.
