Whenever I have to remove and replace the interior trim on the A and B pillars, I can never seem to get them to fit back perfectly, there is always a gap. does the outside edge of the trim fit into the weatherstripping or something? This always bugs me. Any tips?

The only thing that holds the A-pillar trim in place is several (3-4?) plastic fingers on the back that push into metal clips on the A-pillar. When these fingers get old they tend to become brittle and can break off. I would assume the B-pillar trim is held in place the same way.
