I have a 91 Explorer half the time when I turn it off key out and not running the fuel pump keeps pumping. I tap on the power distribution box near the battery and it stops. Can't find why it happens. Anyone had this problem ?

I haven't had that problem but other things stay on if key is not in right position. Just a thought.

Sticking fuel pump relay.

Took the words right out of my mouth....check the relay

I thought it might be that. Does anyone know where it is located?

look in your owners manual....if you dont have one...search of it on line.

How about where you tapped it

There is another box located under the one that has the fuses. I would replace both the EEC and the fuel pump relay at this age.

Thanx for the help. I replaced the fuel pump relay. Still have the same problem.

Think you pulled out the wrong relay.

OOps did change the wrong relay all three relays are the same. Have to get back to it and change the right one.

Thanx for the help changed the correct relay now it works properly. Cost a whol $7.
