My 2002 explorer occasionally has a bit higher idle when coming to a stop requiring me to have to hold tight on the brakes. When I release the brakes the vehicle will immediately roll forward. As quickly as this symptom happens, it is gone the next time I stop. The increase in idle is not very much but just enough to not want my wife to drive the vehicle. Some time ago when hitting resume on the cruise control it was not very smooth in acceleration. Just wondering if I might have a problem with the engine speed sensor. I checked for codes and there are none.

are ya brakes slighty harder to apply....had this happen in one of my vehicles a coupla years ago....was a torn diaphragm in the brake booster.
