My 99 Sport is experiencing occaisional starting problems. I had it towed into the shop after it would not start for a day. The next day at the shop it started all the time. The mechanic told me the security system may be malfunctioning anyone have similar problems?

Just a guess--but did you check the battery connections? If they are dirty you can get an intermittent starting problem.

I had this same problem and no one could seem to figure out what the problem was, even after I suggested that "Jiggling this relay until it clicks seems to solve the problem...". Eventually I replaced the relay, and the problem disappeared. In my 95, the relay is located under the hood near the firewall on the drivers side. There's a bunch of relays and fuses located in a black, flip-top, plastic box here. There are 3 black relays, and the one in the 'middle' is the one that needed replacing. I believe it was the fuel pump relay. It was setup like this:

[1][2]
[3]

Where [1] was the relay to be replaced. I don't know how helpful this will be for your '99, but it sounds like the exacy same problem I had.
