Anyone fitted an Ipod to their Ex ?

Where did you locate the Ipod itself, to keep it out of site can they be fitted in the glove box, or maybe the ashtray ?

Have a JVC single DIN cassette player fitted, so am going to need a new CD player with an Ipod connection. The actual connections are a real mess, with lots of single connectionss being made and the one plug having most of its wires cut. Looks like I may need to get someone to fit it as I would have no clue what wire does what, but chucked all my old casettes years ago so will have to get it replaced.

I have got an iPod in mine. I used an Alpine head unit which has an optional iPod interface so I can control the iPod through the head unit. Works perfectly. I have the iPod in the glovebox.

Alpine's

Thanks for the info Bruce, which Alpine HU did you get, I see that they now have some with the Ipod i/f built in without the need for the additional box. Did you install yourself, any problems getting cable through to glove box ?

Thanks

Alan

had mine a while, its a CDA-9833R. Really easy route through to the glovebox.

iPod charger/holder/FM sender

Hi
I found this on eBay. With the lack of space on the dash it holds the iPod whilst charging it through the cigarette lighter. It also has an FM sender so no wires needed (although I use the mini-jack connector on the Sony head unit as the sound quality is slightly better).
It does mean though if I go away and hire a car I can still have my own tunes no matter what head unit is in the rental.
Besides I like the scroll/controls on the iPod but didn't like them on the head units that come with a designated iPod connector.
Reccomended.
