i'm trying to decide on a new exhaust for my X and was wondering if paying the price for the borla system is really worth it or not....what does everyone else think?...what exhaust has everyone else gone with?
I was nothing but impressed with my Borla system on my '95. So impressed that I'm attempting to save for a kit for my '97.
I had many chances to compare the Borla system to other systems on other Explorers. The Borla sounded much better IMO.
As I think I posted in another threat, as far as quality goes Borla is second to none, but you pay for that quality. I've had Borla on several vehicles, one of which I had a Borla cat back system on for 11 years. When I sold that vehicle the exhaust looked as good as the day I put it on with absolutely no rust, corrosion or pitting of any part of the system; the polished tips looked like new as well with no extra special care ever taken on them. That's why they come with a million mile guarantee. Ultimately, the price/performance decision is up to you and your wallet!

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation to Borla other then being a satisfied customer.
Cat-back borlas for the late model V8 are about $800.
Saleen used Borla, and Ford had to maintain the warranty on the vehicles, so you know it meets or exceeds the factory spec.
