auto tranny fluid on a 98 . i notice that the new explorers use the semi syn fluid and the change interval is 100,00 km . i've had the tranny rebuilt and it is time for a fluid change . on my old t bird i used semi synthetic fluid and the tranny lasted 450'000km with no troubles at all . worth it on the 5 speed ?

I am a firm believer in synthetic fluids all around.

I recommend using a full synthetic. Most semi-synthetics are 5% or less synthetic. You're not getting any of the advantages of a synthetic this way. A full synthetic will run cooler and last longer.
