is it just me or am i the only one that will only do a mod if i have a part to replace it? for example... im not going to mill out the MAF sensor on my ranger until i have another MAF to replace it if i screw up, or the results of it are sub-par.

am i the only one like this, or are there others too?

Nope your not the only one. I am the same way b/c my truck is my daily driver so I can't afford to have it laid up if I screw something up.

actually i think we need to start a support group for people like ourselves, maybe a 12 step program, cause i won't do that either, in fact when it comes to that kind of stuff i'd prefer to modify the new part, cause i already know the old one works

hello my name is todd and i'm an X-oholic

TSTONE: exactly, because then you will have a new mod. part instead of a partially used one.

sometimes i will even test fit the new part, make sure it works, then mod the old part, and use it, and if it works well, i will find out what i want to do better and re-do it on the new part. ok, ive done that once. but i would do it like that everytime if i have the time.

ugh, oh well. im painting my fan this weekend, and i dont have a back up. woo im on step one!

I'm thinking about installing a superchip soon. I have heard that it is very easy to do... just plug it in and go. For some reason I think that it will be a bit more complicated for me. :D

see, if that were me, i would probabally buy a spare engine to try it on.

well, i would rent a car the same model and everything as mine, and then put it in there, and see what it does for it. make sure there arent any problems.

Neurotic

Due to my lack of "surgeons hands" I tend to break everything I remove. My solution ----I tow a spare X with me everywhere......haha.

:chug:

ROFLMAO!!! Sounds like me. :smoke:

yep i do this too

i once bought an extra 3rd high mount brake light because i was going to mod mine with paint and i didn't want to mess it up so i bought an extra.
