Is it OK to remove the Trip Computer from 2001 EB?

The trip computer is virtually worthless. It doesn't track actual gas usage and that basically throws everything else off.

Can I just pull that display out and replace it with that console blank without affecting any of the rest of the systems?

hi Bill, I'm very interested in the same thing... did you ever get any info about this or figure anything out??

I'd assume so, but would just unplug it and verify that before going to the trouble of fabbing a panel blank or whatever else you might want to put there... or check which fuse it uses, if there is the possibility to pull the fuse to it and try the vehicle, or if there is too much else important on that fuse to prevent the trial.
