is it possible to put a sunroof in

A moon roof is made out of metal and has to be retracted or removed to be seen through. You really only see moonroofs on older vehicles, especially BMW's and Mercedes.

The key difference between a sunroof and moonroof is that a moonroof slides out of the way for an open roof. A sunroof has to be physically removed and stored for an open roof. The old moonroofs were solid and could not be seen through from either side(there were exceptions), current moonroofs are mirrored on top and see through on the bottom. Current moonroofs are also made out of glass.

To answer another question about aftermarket sunroofs leaking, it just depends on which brand you buy. I have added either a power moonroof or a popup sunroof to every car I have ever owned(haven't done it to my X yet though) and have never had a leak. I usually try to find an ASC or Fairmount brand.

On my '97 and a co-worker's '98 Ford called it a "Power Moonroof". It has glass that you can see through, once you slide the head-liner out of the way.

I had an aftermarket sunroof put in my accord when I had it. it was beautiful. it was a pop-up with dark tint on it and it cost $325 with a lifetime warranty. it was installed by a local customizing shop and they are known for doing excellent work. it did not leak one drop. they installed a new headliner with it and all. I guess just make sure the place you take it too has a good reputation.

Sunroof / Moonroof.

I thought it was the other way around. A moonroof is made of glass and the sunroof of metal. My old Mercedes had an all metal roof and the sticker said "sunroof". My new Toyota has a glass roof and says "moonroof"...

Nowadays, the terms are so interchangeable, most sunroofs have shades or covers to essentially make it a moonroof
