hello I have a 96 explorer with automatic hubs on the front. I also have a 94 explorer with manual hubs. I would like to put those manual hubs on my 96, i know anything is possible with a set of torches and a good welder. My question is, is it worth the trouble or is it sorta easy swap. Has anyone done this before. Thank you for reading this and God Bless

Doubt it,,the 94 is a ttb front end and the 96 is a torsion bar that does'nt use any hubs. Take a look at the two trucks and you'll see the difference,,you would have to convert the 96 to a ttb,,not worth it.

Do a search on AVM conversion, I just got all the parts to do this to two of my second Gen explorers, other than swapping in a solid front axle its the only way to get manual hubs on your rig, however you will also need to do a BWM brown wire mod, or get a manual transfer case ,you have a vacuum disconnect on your front pass side axle, not sure if that would jive with the conversion, 95/96 are the only second gens with the vacuum disconnect,

thats what i figured, i figured that might be a easier why to by pass the vacuum crap to engage the front end in stand of swapping in a solid front axle, and im also putting the 5 speed manual and tcase out of the 94 and putting it my 96 to get rid of that 4auto crap and get my 4 high back. just got to find a manual shift kit for the 4wheel because its a electric shift. Does anyone know any website i can do some searching on.there has to be a cable set up or linkage package out there, only one i can find so far, you got to crawl underneath and do it by hand which i rather keep my electric hift. and thank you for your feed back, its pretty helpful to have someone else's opinion
