Well i noticed originally that my tranny was starting to slip. i could tell when i floored it on the highway it would rev weird and seem to all of a sudden grab. Now i got a new problem if i give it gas to get out of OD on the highway it stays at about 3000 rpm and will not go back into OD unless i push the button on and off on the shifter. There is also a new grinding noise coming from my dash. At exactly 65mph it starts and at 66 it stops. It might be speedo cable maybe? I dunno but will you guys help. Thanks

Scott

dont think there is a mechanical cable in your truck......

also it does sound like your tranny is going...

Jim is right, there is no speedo cable. It doesn't sound good. Your probably looking at dropping the pan and at least poking around. I'm sure one of our tranny gurus will chime in with a much more informed guess as to what to look for.

Just some positive words for ya. I had a bad Mass Air Sensor that caused my tranny to slip. Replaced MAS and that fixed the problem.

haha im waitin for those tranny guru's

Have you changed the fluid filter recently, are you sure the fluid level is right, if so when/how did you check it? Have you checked for any DTC codes? Engine problems can affect transmission performance such as the Mass Air Sensor, that's true, so can other fuel metering devices. Your shifts seem lagged, this is usually indicative of sticky valves, and indicates the quality of the fluid/filter is less than ideal possibly even low or high fluid level.
