is the AWD and 4x4 front diff and axles the same

I'm guessing that the AWD and 4x4 front diff and axles are the same, am I correct on this? All parts are interchangeable ?

physically the same, yes. they may have different gear ratios, thats the only difference. but you have to watch one thing. 95 and 96 housings in the v6 trucks are different. they have a "knot" on top of the passengers side tube that locks and unlocks the diff.
