Is the sending unit and fuel pump all one piece?

Upon reading over the covered parts for the ESP, I see that the fuel pump is listed.

I might have to replace the sending unit, since it takes sometimes hours for the needle to reach the proper mark when fulling the tank.

Covered or no?

I've seen this but only when filling the tank without turning the ignition key to off. Othewise the gauge will sweep right up to the correct level.
