Is there a heavier duty replacement for the A4LD?

Tired of rebuilding this thing, anyone help?

For one thing, the A4LD's put in 93 and 94 Explorers were significantly upgraded from the A4LD's they put in the 91 and 92 Explorers. There's a thread on here somewhere about the modifications Ford made. I'd suggest putting and A4LD from a 93 or 94 truck in, if you want to go with a new trans. The A4LD can be rebuilt a lot beefier than stock, and someone here has had this done.

A C5 automatic can be used. They have the internals of a C4... Catch is, they're a 3spd auto... No overdrive.
