Try looking in the airbox for a horn shaped plastic funnel piece... lol..

That's where mine was anyways on my 2nd gen... as for the 1st gen.. I always wondered about that plastic case type thing in your air intake that says "CAUTION FAN" on it...

I will have to give it a look in the morning. I'll see what i can find.

are you talking about this?

Yup.

hmmm, not sure, I didn't notice it was detachable from the rest of the tube until just now.... I shall also take that apart.

Be careful, as our trucks are old and the plastic crap likes to break. o.o And like I said, I was just wonderin what was in it... I guess we'll find out soon. For all I know, you might not even have a silencer.

I might just ask my dad (who has worked in the parts area of for for nearly 30 years), I just learn better with hands on experience.

Same here.

I'm thinking, most likely the intake tube has "caution fan" on it because it covers the fan warning on the radiator shroud. I don't think the tube actually has a fan in it.

Of course it doesn't, you might be right about covering the other warning though. We're just curious as to if it has a silencer inside it.

nah, no fan in there, but that part of the tube is detachable, so that may be where the noise is resonated.

there's no resonator in it. it's just a empty tube connected to the throttle body and maf...

you coudl replace it with a metal tube of same size and get same effect.

if you're "hearing" a noise from it, that's not good. it should be silent unless it's aftermarket.

ive wrapped my tube with insulation so I can't check

no noise, i just wondered if there was one on there. i was going to take it off if there was.
