2001 Explorer Sport Trac
Hey everyone,
I just hoping to get some insight on whether or not this is a good deal on the things i am getting installed (the labour, not the products)
What I am getting installed:
1.) A custom box for my Ford Explorer Sport Trac, for behind the seats
(out of wood)
2.) 2 12" subs
3.) an amp
4.) 4 speakers in the door panels
5.) a simple deck
6.) An Alarm system (with bypass for immobilizer, so an alarm and remote starter)
(All wiring is included)
for $590 cdn.
Deal or No Deal? lol ;p

if they're building the box, thats not a bad deal Most places charge around $75.00 an hour for labour. IF you can do any of it yourself you'll save some money though, its not that hard

^X2
I would say that $590 is about right.

Sony has gone WAY downhill...The sony subs get surprisingly loud but the sound quality sucks balls....the sony speakers suck...the sony amp sucks...and the sony head unit sucks.

IMO I would rather save money and get much better quality equipment. Sony is crap quality nowadays...nothing like the past.

Also for the alarm I wouldn't trust Best Buy to install it...90% of the "installers" are retards. You can get a good Viper 2-way remote start on ebay for the same price.

LOL Sony is not that bad, I know they have a bad rep but trust me ive heard exactly what i have, properly installed and it sounded insane.
But those arent the prices i paid for my unit
This is what I paid:
The Subs: 59.99 each
The Speakers: 39.99 per set
Amp: 199.99
Deck: 79.99
Alarm: 68.00!!!!
(ALL BRAND NEW FROM VARIOUS STORES)
so i think i got a killer deal lol

Sounds about right.....I had my stuff professionally installed cause I was to lazy when I get my explorer I didn't want to transfer everything from my past vehicle. Ended up paying about $290 to have a shop put in my headunit, 4 speakers, amp, and subs. It ended up being very not worth it considering they didn't put my door panels back on properly, they didn't clean up any of the wire fragments they had scattered all throughout my car, they hooked up my subs wrong inside the box AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF they just went out of business the other week so my three year warranty on the install is toast:mad: . Just thought I would share.

And by the way...if you think the two Sony 12's sound insane then come on over and I will let you hear my two 12's. ;)

i agree...
if you think a sony system sounds insane you have yet to see the world of car audio..
