tweeter huh? what are they asking about say over 1000$? , i'm guessing you are going to run the speakers off the head unit and the two subs off of the amp? make sure you check prices online for the amp and subs and headunit before spending your money. But to answer your question...the JL 500x1 amp is AMAZING(if thats what they want to sell you), and i think it will put out more powere than the 12W3 can even handle...it;s a good combo though(JL makes the subs, and they make the amp to make the subs sound good...also, the guy who designs the amps for JL is the guy who designed the amps for xtant, which is a very high end product) You should do some research on the head unit, some people have bad things to say about all brands so maybe asking around about panasonic will change your views...i'd reccomend clarion for head units....other people will tell you they suck.

I've gotten fairly good service there, as they've made me a repeat customer, despite their prices being high... So thats my lil imput
Pete

well, the money i saved by NOT shopping at tweeter for my other past cars might have been the deal breaker for buying my 99 sport loaded with leather .... think long term, is putting 1100$ into the stereo of a 91 a good idea?

like who?? clarion headunits are awesome.

anyway, 2 JLW3s in a slot vented box should hit really hard.

like he said, shop around....

Clarion head unit are awesome, i have the 9575 (99 model) and it has been great i have had it for about 2 years and have never had any problems with it. If it ever goes bad (which i doubt it will) i will replace it with a clarion!

the want 2 grand for it all but i am not paying for it so i dont really care about the prices

priceless

for 2 grand, i you could get:
a good head unit with an in-dash dvd player and screen: $500

a good 4 channel amp: 300$

the two jl 12w3's: 375$

two pair of good seperate speakers: 250$

installation junk and supplies:75$

and 500$ worth of cd's and dvd's....

thats just my frugal butt talking

$2000!!

they better give you more than that for 2K!

you could be running two Juggernaut 12s for less than that....

damn it for 2k i would get:

1 Zr1000-$750
2 S15L7-$550
1 Zr240-$175
Image Dynamic CXS64-$275
Panasonic CQ-DF601U-$250
That would be bumpin

well then i guess i should relook into it

all u guys giving me info give me some sites to look into so that i could be bumpin

also the dvd in dash head units i saw were 2 grand hook me up wit da info

Here's 2 Clarions and 1 Panasonic in-dash DVD players for under $750.00.

And I agree with the others, Clarion makes some of the best head units around.

For amplifiers I personally recommend Rockford Fosgate. I've owned a few of them over my days and I'm happy with each and every one of them. Although PPI and Soundstream make very good amps too. For Subs, JL makes some good ones as long as you go with the W6 series but if you want a hard hitting sub go with Boston Acoustics. They make the best subs out there. They are pricy but you can still get a better deal on them than what Tweeter is giving you. And for highs and mids I'd go with a/d/s or MB QUART, you can argue a case for either of them but if you go with either, you are getting the best money can buy. Again they are pricy too but well worth the money. But hey that's just my opinion. There is no question you can get much better deals by doing a little searching on the internet and if you're willing to install yourself. To me that's the fun of having the whole system is making it work yourself.
