The pcm(my scanner) sees 1,2,3,4,5 Then still has to lock torque converter...
When it downshifts it used to still say 5 (unlock tc) and rpms go up (@70,1950/2850)
Now it goes straight to 4 (3700) then 5 then definitely struggles to lock tc and is quick to disengauge..
It drives like there's quite a load at 50+ but acceleration seems normal below that...
I don't know but personally I would have to question using Chrysler ATF in that transmission, now I am not familiar with your model, but would think MERC V would be the one to use. Sometimes you can substitute, if you add the LUBEGARD stuff that modifies DEX/MERC to perform like MERC V.

Depends on what exact fluid they used. Some of those multi-vehicle formulas have a lot of applications they can be used for. Find out what they used and see if the listed suitable applications include Mercon V spec.

that's just it that's all my sheet says...
from what I have read atf plus 4 was created by chrysler because they're transmissions shifted too rough w/atf+3 so they added more friction modifier.......thus atf+4
with more friction modifier in the fluid it would definitely explain how the clutches would burn up quicker
Wouldn't this seem correct? this is about the only article I could find on the subject
you could be right. My first thought was that maybe they used something like Amsoil Multi-vehicle ATF that is rated for both Mercon V and ATF+4. Though with their part number they listed specifically calling it ATF+4 I am thinking that might not be the case.
At any rate with that documentation showing that filled it with the wrong stuff, you've got a good case for them to fix it.
He is test driving it tomorrow.
I asked about the atf+4 and he said "its multi vehicle. It's just easier on me to just use one synthetic... But yes it is mopar..."
He swears the tires are killing it since one is a cm larger... I call bs since when it was last there he said they shouldn't hurt anything...

The off-size tire could be a factor...didn't you start having problems once you put them on? I bet Treadwright would send a replacement.
Still, if the fluid isn't Mercon V compatible that might be the more likely culprit. If it were me I'd want to know exactly what he uses and look up the specs on it.

Tires.not really it never felt 100%. Noticed problems after trip to nags head with jd...
He said "but yes it is a Chrysler fluid...
All the multi vehicle atf's say just atf not specificly atf+4
I'm thinking I may ride to dealer and see if I can get a list of approved compatibility...
Good idea maybe?
Treadwright is in the process of sending me another set of match tires. Amazing customer service
I don't feel the chug as the old xcase did(royal purple) but trans guy is now trying to say that could have hurt trans(so could wrong fluids....)
