I got a set of Jet underdrive pulleys for my X. Does anyone else have these that can share a few install tips? Also do I need to get a different belt? If so which one should I get (part # please). Would I still be able to use these with a super charger?

Thanks,

Mike

You dont run an underdrive crank pulley with a blower. It makes it run slower, thus giving you less boost. Are the pulleys you have for a mustang? Last i heard no one made any for the 5liter X...

look then up on www.truckperformance.com for a mountaineer and they come up. nor for explorer. I also checked the mustang part # and it was different

James thanks for the info about not running them with a blower. They are Jet Performance pulleys made for the Explorer. I called Jet and gave up after being on hold for 10 mins. I then e-mailed them earlier today and haven't heard anything back yet. If they don't get back to me soon I am just going to send them back.

Underdrive crank pulleys are okay. Its when you try to combine it with larger pulleys for the water pump and alternator is when the problem starts. I know they use to sell them in sets for sports cars a few years ago. I fell for it and it gave me nothing but problems with the alternator and over heating issues.

Let us know the before and after performance when you get done installing. :)
