Hi y'all. I'm the next newbie and just bought a 2000 Explorer XLS and will probably be asking for advice from time to time. Working out some issues with it. It's a one owner Explorer with only 92,000 miles on it. Really clean. Put a fuel pump in it and once I got it started it had 4 trouble codes. P0352, P0122, P0113 and P1401. Now the fun begins...lol

Welcome. Your P1401 code pertains to the DPFE sensor. From what I understand from doing research on the internet they are a common failure part. I had 2 lean codes on my wife's 99 Sport w/4.0 SOHC engine & after testing the sensor it failed the test. I replaced it & no CEL for about 3 weeks now. Here is a couple links on how to test it.
