2007 Explorer XLT Ironman
Found a killer 2007 Ironman edition 2007 XLT for a steal.
That is beside the fact it doesn't start.

So I started with trying to read some codes. Right off the bat I had trouble, when my scanner said that it couldn't connect

Secondly I checked fuses & all is fine.

The dealer I bought it from said that the timing chain on it went. Either that or that the starter wasn't engadgeing properly. So after hearing that I decided I would try to do my own diagnosis.

I went straight to the heads to see if a compression test would tell me anything.
I guess it told me a lot and very little.
None of my cyl have any compression what-so-ever.
Dispite the fact that, when my starter rolls over, I can see the harmonic balancer turn.

I'm guessing I probably made things worse by cranking it over doing the test, but it doesn't matter considering the dealer did it before (as they said).. However it seems strange to me that the whole assembly turns over with 0 feedback and 0 stressful sound. The truck was maintained extremely well from what I can tell. And aside from the engine, the thing is in cherry condition. For what I got it for I have no problem putting a new engine in it. 150,000 mi on the odo.

I'm prepairing to take off the covers and check out left and right,
But i look towards the explorer experts for advice.
This is my second Ex btw, I'm working on this one, to upgrade from my. 98 EB :salute:

EDIT: This is a 4.0l SOHC v6
