Just bought first Explorer. '98 5.0

Hey all, just bought a 1998 Explorer XLT with the V8, and I kinda dig it so far. It's leather and loaded, including sunroof and that jazz. Gold, I haven't washed it yet and it still looks clean. I installed some yellow 3000k HID's from my recently wrecked Crown Vic and it looks pretty sweet.

I need to do a drivers side ball joint badly, she squeaks and the tire is really worn. Anybody know some good ball joints to use on one of these? I also heard AWD is a problem on these trucks, I can hear a slight whine in my transfer case when coming to a stop. But oh well, I found transfer cases for 300 bucks.

Hey I just got a 98 XLT today also but mine has the V6 cloth and no sunroof but has everything else and both ball joints and front sway bar where replaced by the previous owner about a week ago.
