I just wanted to let everyone know who is wondering about this, just as I did before I attempted. I wanted to get some larger tires on the explorer (2000 Eddie Bauer 2wd) It was completely stock before attempting.
I bought some Nitto Terra Grapplers that were 265/75/R16 and was unsure if they would fit, but I got them for a great price, so I was willing to experiment. I put the Explorer on the lift and cranked each TB up 6 full turns. The front of the tire (plastic bumper) had to be trimmed about 1" at the very bottom and tapered off about 2" up. The rear of the front tire just barely clipped the running board, that too was trimmed about 1/2" up about 2".
Other than that I just have to go take it and get aligned, but I love the way it sits now. Nothing had to be done with the rear of the car. Hope this helps someone out there
P.S. - Got about 3/4" lift just with the TB crank, and another 3/4" with the new sized tires, for a total of 1.5"
