93 Ex 4wd Eddie Bauer
My wife has a 93 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition, Automatic w/4wd. Her car just doesn't seem to accelerate correctly. is there something I can check out? If I'm driving it increasing the throttle just doesn't seem to respond quickly, it's like I'm trying to accelerate with 5 tons on the back of it. You don't feel it. Then if you floor it there is 'some' pickup but nowhere near what you would expect.
I'm not too familiar with this vehicle except the shift motor I'll be rebuilding this weekend since the 4wd isn't working right now, so you'll have to guide me where to look and describe what I'm looking for in some detail if you don't mind.
Thanks in advance for your help!

What maintanance have you done? Changed the plugs? Cleaned the air filter or changed to a knn or K&M? Cleaned the MAF??? etc???

yeah, I would start with the plugs, filter, wires ect. Then if that doesnt work I would immediatly go to the trans. As long as the engine roars when you push the accelerator, it should go. problem would be in power delivery to the wheels. If none of this works, pressure test your cylinders. not too hard to do.
