This seems like a great place to find and share info. I look forward to doing so with you.

My explorer was sold to me by my uncle who gave me an old boat 6 months earlier. Now I have something to pull my boat with.

Any suggestions about towing with an old explorer will be greatly appreciated.

The best advice I can give you is this:

Install the BIGGEST trans cooler you can fit in place of the stock one...specifically look at the B&M SuperCooler design............

And NEVER, EVER tow in Overdrive (press the button on the end of the shift lever to turn of O/D. There will be an indicator lamp that illuminates in the gauge cluster to let you know that O/D is off)

The boat is a 1989 wellcraft 233 eclipse. Right now she is too dirty to show off but I will post a new thread showing off when I get her cleaned up and maybe even a transmission cooler install how to. The boat and trailer weigh around 4000 and it is 23 feet long. Right now I'm working on a solid surge break set up on the trailer sp as to keep the car pulling the trailer and not the other way around .

I'm going to get.a proceedure together to do the transmission flush because my uncle never did one on it.
