Just got an 08 2 weeks ago

Hello all, some of you might has saw my post a couple weeks back saying i might be getting a explorer.

Well i got it

08 XLT with the V8.
42K miles well 43K now lol.
Built in 06/08 (hoping i dont have the spark plug problem)
Has Leather and the 290watt XM radio. wish it had Sync
Sun Roof

But hoping to have her for 200k+ miles.

-PS any common problems i should know about or i should do right away before waiting a while would be great to know. Thanks lol.

That is a great looking Explorer, man. I love the color. As far as common problems, I don't think there are any that I can think of. I don't think they had the tranny problem in that year. As long as it all seems right then you should be ok.

Welcome to the forum! That's a nice find without that many miles. If you are looking for Sync there's always an aftermarket solution you can find on Crutchfield.com
We have a new Pioneer that has voice command that will play your music and make calls for you. You can check it out here:

thanks guys,

ill be learning allot about my Explorer, i pretty much do everything and anything when it comes to working on or fixing cars/trucks.

My last car was a 95 Bonneville SSEi (supercharged) and i still have it. 207K miles and going strong. funny thing is im keeping it for the Winter beater. Figure keep the Explorer rust free that many more years sense i live in Rust Up State NY lol.

First Mods will be K&N Intake and Magnaflow Catback Exhaust.
