Would a cold air intake benefit my explorer at all? It's a 99 with 156k and still trudging through about 50+ miles a day, but since it's relatively old I wanted to know if it'd even help the performance at all before I wasted time and cash on a maybe.

Also, when I put on the AC the front fans don't blow but the back ones do, could the blower motor be out? How easy/hard is it to replace one?

I just put a cold air intake on my 99 sport and it gained me about 2mpg. So will it help yes. As for the blower motor it could be the motor its self or the blower motor resistor. Both are fairly simple to change out.

but is the 300 dollar price tag worth the 2mpg? or is there a place to get it cheaper?

What motor do you have 4.0 OHV or the 4.0 SOHC?

it is a SOHC, but is the ebay one reputable? lol

I just have to take out the airbox and put the new one back in right?

Yes your just taking a few thing off and replacing them with something else. I can't say anything about the ebay kit as I have never used one. I have MAC CAI on my explorer and my Thunderbird so I can say that MAC's are build with good quality.

I think i'll give it a whirl, it's only 40 dollars and sometimes cheap items can surprise you.

I have a lot of friends in to hondas and they say sometimes you get a good thick intake and some times they are made out of cheap thin metal. So it really is hit or miss.
