bought a new pioneer headunit. The stock headunit doesnt push at all. even if i had the bass turned up all the way you could get a little bumping. now with the pioneeer, you get ALOT.

just thought id let people know the stock headunits dont do very much

Where are you at in SW MI? GR here...

The stock units pull bass out at higher volume levels...

That's great to hear! Pioneer makes some good head units.

Little farther south. I live in a small town called edwardsburg. Right by the indiana/michigan line.

Indeed, the OEM HU is engineered with the speaker's safety in mind. It'll clip the bass at higher volume to protect the speakers. With the aftermarket HU in, I would expect the speakers to be short for this world. Good luck!

Now you just need to replace the stock speakers. I replaced mine with the Pioneer TS-A6880R speakers (6"x8" 240w 4-ways) when I got them they ran around $100 a set, but my employee discount helped a lot. Install was a biatch but thats because of the large interior panels in Sport. The time and discomfort was definitely worth it in the end.

I bought them at Best Buy when i worked there, i got 60% off, but you should be able to find them pretty cheap. If you are trying to get good quality sound, you should definitely invest in some 4-ways, they just sound so much better. but as for the Pioneer TS-A6880R's you can find them online for under $60 and can maybe catch a pair on ebay if you lucky.
