Hi. Not sure how all of this works, as I have never joined a forum, but here goes...I just (2/8/25) purchased a 2020 Ford Explorer Platinum 4WD with 73k miles on it. It has the 3.0L Ecoboost V6 engine. The dealer had some questionable choices for an extended warranty that I couldn't find the value in (the vehicle came with 12 month/12,000 full coverage as a Ford Gold Certified offering and the warranties that were offered deducted that from the coverage of those plans - 84 months became 72 months and 42,000 miles became 30,000 at a cost of $5,000). So, in making that decision, I searched all possible sites for common problems, average repair costs by year, etc., leading me to find this forum. I currently have no questions or issues, but am far more comfortable and confident in my decision to pass on the extended warranty knowing that there is a knowledgeable group of people willing to help others when troubles do arise. I'm not a car guy and with the new ones being so high tech, even less so. The point of that is, as time goes by, I will likely be asking for more than I can contribute.
