Hey, I just moved down to Pensacola, FL from Maryland and it's time for an oil change in my X. What kind of oil do you all recommend I move to (weight and type) and do you all have any preferences for oil filters? Oh, and this will be my first oil change (laugh it up), so is there anything I should look out for, or just drain the oil, change filter and refill? Thanks.

what kind of oil is in it now? and what brand if you know?

Welcome to the neighborhood. What part of Pensacola did you move to? I live right across the bridge in Milton. I recently moved over here from Pensacola. I got tired of the congestion over on the west side of Pensacola and moved out to the country a bit. Are you Military? I ask because that is the only reason most people move here. I work at the local Naval base in Pensacola.

As far as oil goes, right now the weather is hot and I use 20W50 in my truck for the summers around here. I drop down to 10W40 in the winter time. But that's my preference. What oil is in it right now? Stick with the Motorcraft oil filters. Advanced Auto Parts has them. No surprises during oil change. Drain, replace filter, and fill to correct level.

Hey, I think it's 10w-30 in there right now and it's Valvoline so I'll probably stay with that brand. Yeah, it's hot here but I'm getting used to it, and the beaches. I'm in the Navy and I'm here for flight training so it's exciting and I'm living over near Perdido Bay, so on the other side of things.
