2016 Explorer Sport
Hello all,

The wife and I just recently purchased this 2016 Explorer Sport from Enterprise (hence the green bow). We had been looking around to replace her 2010 Journey and tested out this Sport from our local Enterprise to see if we wanted to purchase a brown XLT from a different location that would have had to get transported in. I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it and told her I want it. A couple days later and we are now proud owners of this super sweet black Explorer Sport! (gentlemen just tell your wife how amazing she looks driving it). It is just too sexy of a ride and we would have been bummed long term to pass on this for the lesser XLT.

I dont see a ton of mods in the future as to me its pretty show worthy if you will as it sits. I do want to do something about the blue badges to finish off the blacked out look, potentially replace the teal lighting on the doors sills (seriously ford, why teal?!) and add a rear bumper protector so we dont bang that up getting the stroller for the kiddos in and out.

Welcome to the Black 2016 Sport club...….now go wash it. I have found with a black sport; either it is being washed or needs to be washed :)

@BrooklynBay it has just over 27,000 on it with 2.5 years in service. Wife typically puts ~9k miles a year on so it should last us a long while!

You bought a rental?........yikes.

You bought a rental?........yikes.

We bought from car sales. This was taken in on trade as a personal vehicle. A lot of what goes through car sales are rentals but you dont just walk into rental and ask to buy a car lol

You actually can just buy rentals from at least Avis. Every car has a calculated buyout value you could keep it for.

As someone who used to constantly drive rentals, I’d never consider one. 25k rental miles is often like 100k regular car miles.

Like I said you can buy rentals but they flow through Car Sales with Enterprise (or go to auction or are sold to Fleet etc), you cant just walk on a rental lot to see what they have and buy a car (I mean...I suppose everyone and everything has a price but that is not the process). There is disclosure of rental vehicle or personal use vehicle. Most of the time the personal use go to auction, but if they are in their niche of being within a few years old and a certain mileage all while having a certain level of condition they will then do any reconditioning needed, have them certified, and sell on a lot.
