- 2003 XLT Explorer "flex"
Hello All! new to the forum, Ever since I purchased our 2003 Explorer XLT I have gain respect back for the Explorers. I (we) My wife and I simply love this vehicle. But since we have put over 150K miles on it it's starting to have a few issues. None the less we still love this Vehicle.
After reading quite a few threads on Explorers I'm very happy about being able to make it to 150K without some of the issues others have been experiencing. We have the "Flex Fuel" model, one year only I'm told, and it has performed wonderfully so far. I have yet to run E85 through it though. Not certain of any advantages (or disadvantages) that might bring. Not available locally around these parts.
We are now experiencing the "wheel bearing" issues that so many talk about. Hoping to do the repairs myself, former auto tech, but that was 20 some odd years ago before the career change. We post a thread in the proper venue and see what help you all can provide.
