I have a ’91 E/B. I bought it used and have had trouble
with it pinging since I got it. I have tried everything under
the sun to get it to stop. A few weeks ago I saw an old thread
about Seafoam. I have never had much luck with that kind of
stuff but I saw several people saying how good it was.
I ran 1 can into the intake manifold via a vacuum hose (man did it smoke)
and I added 1 can to ½ a tank of gas. By the time I had to fill up again
My 91 was running better than it ever has. It runs smooth and I can not get it
to ping now even on big hills. I have never done any other 1 thing to my
EX that helped it that much and just thought I would pass it on.

BTW- I have no connection with Seafoam, I just want to recommend a good product.

yea, its great. my 92 runs like new after using it. use it in your oil like 200 mi before your next change to clean out the rest of your engine.

seafoam is great stuff... never heard a bad thing about it.... everyone on this site seems to love it, and also on www.yotatech.com the otehr site im on most of the time....

I've gotta pick up a can. I tried but AutoZone didn't carry it and actually never heard of it. Big surprise.

napa carries it

advance auto has it. one thing i like to do with it is when the people next door p!ss me off i put a can into the intake when they have there house all open up. smokes them out like bugs. :smoke: hehe

O'Reilly Auto Parts also carries it. For those who don't know, AutoZone is not the best place to get anything for your car. Advance and O'Reilly, on the other hand, are :)

seafoam is good ****!

Carquest and Napa have it, and i believe Advanced Auto does too

along with any Fleet Farm Stores near you

Does anyone know where i can get it in canada? I tried part source and Napa but they have never heard of it. Who is the manufacturer? Maybe the brand name will help? I would really like to try it on my X.

Mills fleet farm also sells this stuff

I just did this to both my 2001 V-8's and also my 1992 trail rig. Good stuff......
Best couple of bucks I have spent on my trucks in awhile.

Yeah, I also recently used the stuff in my gas tank and my vacuum hoses. Good stuff for sure. Anyone tried putting it their crankcase yet? On the can it says that it should cleans it out, but I haven't read anything about that yet on the forum.

There should be no need for any oil addative if you run good quality oil.

Infragate

Piston Ring in Winnipeg should carry it they do in Dauphin .

I used Seafoam as well in my 92 Ranger, Noticed increase in power and MPG, but now it idles erratically when cold, actually stalls the first time starting, IAC has been cleaned w/in last month....Any suggestions? Sorry didn't mean to hijack thread

I may be getting a can of this for myself tomorrow...Are there any dangers? can this stuff destroy my engine? I have a slight ping, not real bad but if this can make things "like new" i would love to try it.

i don't see any dangers with it except that you have to put it in through the intake slowly as to not choke off the engine cause you could hydrolock your engine, although i have accidently choked off my car and my truck doing it and no damage was done :D

so no i don't see any dangers,

has anyone used or heard anything good about the Seafoam Transmission additive? just curious as to how well it works

it says deep creep can be used in hydralic fluid. does this mean i can add it to DOT3 fluid to help restore the inside of some of my hard lines? or is adding it to brake fluid a big :nono:

I have never used Seafoam, but my IAC went dead and cleaning didn't help. It could just need replacement as many have said cleaining is a temporary measure.
